Leading our Churches into Growth

We use materials from Leading your Church into Growth to help our churches stay orientated and make sure we are all growing in numbers and maturity.

Leading your Church into Growth (LyCiG) have been helping churches to grow sustainably for over 25 years. Our churches in Ampfield, Chilworth and North Baddesley are starting to use material from LyCiG Local to ensure that all our congregations grow sustainably in three ways:

  • growth: number of people involved
  • spiritual growth: more people becoming more like Jesus
  • servanthood growth: more people having more of an impact on communities and society.

LyCiG Local materials are highly accessible and very suitable for the sort of communities of Ampfield, Chilworth and North Baddesley.

Revd Victoria said: “The purpose of the course is to help all church members to come to a shared vision to see their church grow.

You can read more endorsements in our news article or check out the events list for Lent and Easter 2017 that has all the LyCiG sessions listed

The course is for everyone in the church. It's for all of us because everyone who follows Jesus, however tentatively, are gift bearers and needed in some way in the work of growth. LyCiG Local has grown out of the residential programmes that the organisation has run for over quarter of a century. Are you on board?

Church growth is not about bigger churches for their own sake, but rather about God’s lost children being found and His world transformed. To be absolutely clear churches are meant to grow in both size and maturity. Both should happen at the same time. Just like children, hair, and crops: 1 Cor 3.6 makes it clear: God gives growth - but it takes the right plans and the correct use of gifts for the common good to make it happen. Not growing is a sign of something wrong with the relationship between God and the church. Catch the vision. Come on a course.

There is nothing about our villages that precludes growth. There are no satisfactory arguments of surrounding culture, finance, or leadership that explain why we aren't making more impact. Much of what we do is good. Much of it may be necessary. This course will help us to look at what we do, why we do it and what we could do to make a bigger impact in our communities and for God’s Kingdom. LyCiG local excels at helping churches get better perspectives on growth together.
